About FUSTA

The Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators (FUSTA) was established in 1980 to promote Scottish Highland Dancing and culture in the United States and to provide a "community" system for teachers and judges of Highland dancing. FUSTA spearheads the United States Inter-Regional Championships (USIR) held annually. This championship rotates among the 6 geographic regions which encompass all 50 states: East, Midwest, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, and West.

The FUSTA Board of Directors is comprised of six (6) nationally elected officers which include the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, a National Registration Secretary and the Chair of the Judges Network and six (6) Regional Delegates for a total of 12 Board members. FUSTA is the official US affiliated organization of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD), which is the worldwide governing body of Highland dancing.

FUSTA also supports on-going education for teachers and judges, provides the communications link in the Scottish dancing community, and acts as the resource center in the United States for all aspects of Highland dancing. This non-profit organization is supported by membership fees and tax-deductible gifts of generous individuals and organizations. Donations and scholarships are gladly accepted.
